Huawei Technologies Business Group plans in late 2018 to overtake Apple in global market share to become the second largest smartphone manufacturer in the world. That said the Chief Executive Officer Richard Yu in an interview with Wall Street Journal.
“This year and next will be critical for the success, we are working very hard,” he said.
Huawei’s ambitions were also clearly displayed in the performance of the company during the international technology show IFA, held in Berlin earlier this month.
On September 1, the company unveiled its new series of smartphones nova – Huawei nova and Huawei nova plus, which aims to meet the needs of today’s active and dynamic users.
Huawei once again relies a lot on the cameras of the new devices – Huawei nova, which features a 5-inch screen offers a powerful 8MP front camera and a 12MP rear camera. In turn Huawei nova plus has a 16MP rear camera that captures more light, so photos are sharper, cleaner and with more saturated colors. The devices have a long battery life, and a fingerprint reader and will be available in three basic colors – prestigious yellow, mystic silver and titanium gray.
During IFA 2016 Huawei Technologies Business Group presented its new flagship tablet with audio and multimedia features from premium class, developed in partnership with HARMAN International.
IFA 2016 was very successful for Huawei. Series Huawei nova got 12 awards and the distinction “Best of IFA” by international media organizations. MediaPad M3 grabbed eight awards for its audio and multimedia capabilities.
